Mark Twain Tree

A series of generated art recounts the history of a famous Giant Sequoia tree. Lines and lettering appear in animated interactive form, mimicking the natural growth of a tree through rings, which evolve from the core, pushing gradually outward. The color and size of each ring is a response to the environment, simulated by a database of historical conditions including forest fires, water supply, and the proximity of nearby trees.

The Mark Twain Tree is on exhibit at the American Museum of Natural History in New York.
